This bill amends the public officers law to establish the line of succession for the office of governor when the governor is impeached or unable to discharge the powers and duties of office. The officials eligible to act as governor, in order of precedence, are the lieutenant governor, the temporary president of the senate, the speaker of the assembly, the attorney general, the comptroller, the commissioner of transportation, the commissioner of health, the commissioner of financial services, the secretary of state, the commissioner of labor, and the commissioner of agriculture.
