New York amends the environmental conservation law to extend the exemption for certain chemicals used in mattresses from regulation for an additional year. Specifically, textiles made using modacrylic fiber components without antimony trioxide, when used internally as a barrier material in memory foam or gel foam mattresses, and aramid fibers in the fabric covering the bottom of single-sided mattresses are exempt. This exemption will expire on January 1, 2027. The amendment takes effect immediately.
