The bill amends the education law to expand the New York opportunity promise scholarship to include all State University of New York (SUNY) and City University of New York (CUNY) approved programs that award certain associate's degrees. These degrees are in high-demand fields such as advanced manufacturing, technology, cybersecurity, engineering, artificial intelligence, nursing, green and renewable energy, and teaching in shortage areas. The eligibility of such programs will continue for the 2025-2026 academic year.
