This bill establishes a 22-year retirement program for deputy sheriffs employed by the city of New York. Participation is optional and requires additional member contributions. Members who complete 22 years of service will receive a retirement benefit of 42% of their final average salary for the first 20 years, plus 4% for each additional year up to 25 years. Benefits are subject to a social security offset starting at age 62.
