Expands the acceptable uses of affirmations in civil actions in New York.

This bill amends the civil practice law and rules to expand the acceptable uses of affirmations in civil actions. Affirmations can now be used in lieu of affidavits, certificates, responses to notices to admit, answers to interrogatories, verifications of pleadings, bills of particulars, and other sworn statements. The affirmation must be subscribed and affirmed to be true under the penalties of perjury. The bill takes effect immediately.
