This bill provides pension benefits to Christine Floyd, the widow of deceased firefighter Derek Floyd. Derek Floyd, who was previously employed by the New York City Fire Department, is deemed to have vested in the New York City Fire Pension Fund. Christine Floyd is eligible to receive pension benefits as if Derek Floyd had been an active member at the time of his death. The costs of implementing this act are to be paid by the New York City Fire Department. The act takes effect immediately.
