This bill amends the retirement and social security law to provide alternative retirement benefits for the police force at Erie County Medical Center. A qualifying member, defined as a sworn member employed under the police department of the Erie County Medical Center, shall be eligible to retire after completing twenty-five years of qualifying creditable service. The retirement allowance consists of a pension equal to one-fiftieth of the member's final average salary for each year of qualifying creditable service, not exceeding seventy-five percent of the final average salary.
