New York A07831 amends the penal law by adding new sections to establish specific crimes against child protective services workers. Assault on a child protective services worker is a class C felony. Aggravated assault on a child protective services worker, involving serious physical injury by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, is a class B felony. Menacing a child protective services worker, by placing them in reasonable fear of physical injury or death through the display of a deadly weapon, is a class D felony.
