Albany County extends sales and compensating use tax authorization until 11/30/2027.
This bill amends the tax law to extend the authorization for Albany County to impose sales and compensating use taxes at a rate of one percent additional to the existing three percent rate until November 30, 2027. The additional tax revenue will be distributed to towns, villages, cities, and areas outside cities in the same proportion as the existing three percent tax revenue. If any city in Albany County imposes a tax under a prior right, Albany County will not distribute the additional tax revenue during the period when the city tax is in effect. The changes take effect immediately.
