This bill extends the authority of Suffolk County to impose an additional one percent of sales and compensating use tax. The net collections from this tax increase, between June 1, 2021, and November 30, 2027, must be allocated with at least 20% and no more than 38% dedicated to public safety purposes, and the remainder deposited in the county's general fund. The act takes effect immediately.
