This bill amends the education law to allow active volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers in New York to audit courses at state-operated institutions without tuition, examination, grading, or credit. The board of trustees of the state university can set regulations for granting course credit for successful completion of audited courses by these volunteers. This provision does not affect state aid to community colleges. The act will take effect 90 days after it becomes law.
