New York A07600 amends the vehicle and traffic law to require bike-sharing businesses to equip all bicycles with electric assist with speed and location tracking technology. These businesses must revoke the customer account of any customer found to have traveled over the speed limit or against the flow of traffic. Additionally, the businesses are required to report biannually to the department any account revocations, including reasons and locations of the offenses. The department will then promulgate rules and regulations to implement these provisions.
