New York A07500 amends the general business law by adding a new section prohibiting the erection or maintenance of billboards advertising alcoholic beverages within 1000 feet of any public or private elementary or secondary school or any playground adjacent to or within 1000 feet of any such school. The term "billboard" includes any billboard, sign, notice, poster, display, or other stationary device intended to attract the attention of motor vehicle operators or pedestrians. The act will take effect one year after it becomes law.
