This bill grants David M. Sturtz, a member of the New York State and Local Police and Fire Retirement System, retroactive service credit for his employment with the Onondaga County sheriff's department from October 14, 2002, to April 12, 2011. This service credit is not currently recognized under the NYSLPFRS. The Village of Liverpool, where Sturtz is currently employed, will bear the costs associated with this change, including an estimated $2,000 increase in annual contributions for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, and a one-time payment of approximately $233,000 for past service.
