Grants peace officer status to certain employees of the Syracuse city school district's department of public safety.

This bill amends the criminal procedure law to grant peace officer status to certain employees of the Syracuse city school district's department of public safety. Specifically, it applies to retired law enforcement officers whose primary role is the safety and security of schools, when they are employed as special patrol officers, assistant directors of safety and security, directors of safety and security, and/or chief emergency officers. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
