Requires the office of fire prevention and control to pay specific stipends to volunteer firefighters for completing certain trainings.
This bill amends the general municipal law to require the office of fire prevention and control to pay training stipends to volunteer firefighters for completing specific firefighter trainings. It sets the stipend for the basic exterior firefighting operations with hazardous material first responder course at $1,500 and for the self-contained breathing apparatus with interior fighting operations course at $2,500. If a volunteer fire company pays a lower stipend for these trainings, the office of fire prevention and control must pay the difference.
