New York A07311 amends the insurance law to require certain health insurance policies and contracts to provide coverage for human leukocyte antigen testing, also known as histocompatible locus antigen testing, for A, B, and DR antigens. This coverage is for utilization in tissue typing for bone marrow testing. The requirement does not apply to policies covering persons employed in more than one state or those subject to collective bargaining affecting such persons. The act takes effect on January 1 of the following year.
