This bill directs the commissioner of social services to study the prevalence and threat of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit fraud. The study must include an evaluation of stolen SNAP benefits, barriers to implementing an electronic benefit transfer system, and other relevant information. The commissioner must submit a report to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly. The commissioner must also submit an updated report annually.
