New York A07201 amends the penal law to change sentencing rules for youthful offenders. If a youthful offender finding substitutes a felony conviction, the court must impose a sentence for a class E felony. If the substituted felony is defined in articles two hundred twenty or twenty-one, the sentence is as authorized for a class E felony. If the substituted felony is any other felony, the sentence is as authorized for a class E felony offense.
