Alters the composition of the state board of parole to include members appointed by the four legislative leaders.

This bill amends the executive law to change the composition of the state board of parole. Effective January 1, 2027, the board will consist of up to nineteen members. Nine members will be appointed by the governor, three by the temporary president of the senate, three by the speaker of the assembly, two by the minority leader of the senate, and two by the minority leader of the assembly. Each member's term will be six years. The current board will be abolished on January 1, 2027.
