New York A06891 amends the education law to restrict charter schools from expanding the grades they serve. Beginning with revisions submitted after June 1, 2025, charter schools cannot propose changes that would cause them to serve more than one school classification: elementary, intermediate, middle, junior high, or high school. This act takes effect immediately.
