New York state energy research and development authority to study nuclear small modular reactors.
New York A06705 directs the New York state energy research and development authority, in conjunction with the department of environmental conservation, to conduct a feasibility study and prepare a report on the benefits and implementation of nuclear small modular reactors (SMRs). The study will analyze the potential impacts and costs of SMRs. Within one year of the effective date of this act, the authority shall issue a report of the findings of the feasibility study to the governor, the temporary president of the senate, and the speaker of the assembly. This act shall take effect immediately.
