The "RIDE (responsibility in delivery enforcement) act" amends the vehicle and traffic law to establish that third-party food delivery services must reimburse workers for any fines or civil penalties incurred while operating a bicycle with electric assist in the course of their job duties. Workers must notify the delivery service within thirty days of paying a fine or penalty. The delivery service must then reimburse the worker within thirty days of receiving the notification, using the same payment method as for their services.
