New York A06474 amends the public health law to mandate the distribution of an information card or sheet with Schedule II opioids. The card must include information on recognizing opioid overdose symptoms, steps to take before and after administering an opioid antagonist, opioid addiction and withdrawal, safe disposal and storage of opioids, and access to addiction services. The educational card will be available in multiple languages and provided to opioid overdose prevention programs. The act takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
