Prohibits the NYC water board from enacting any rules and regulations less favorable to the consumer, including timeframes for appeals and receiving.
The New York City water board is prohibited from enacting any rules and regulations that reduce the timeframe for consumers to appeal bills or receive refunds or are otherwise less favorable to the consumer. If backbilling errors are discovered in favor of the consumer, the water board must provide for and order refunds up to six years. This act takes effect immediately.
