This bill amends the public authorities law to give the New York City Council the authority to approve or disapprove any public authority's or public benefit corporation's use of eminent domain in cities with a population of one million or more. The city council must approve or disapprove any proposed use of eminent domain by majority vote. Before voting, the city council must hold at least one official public hearing on the matter at a location reasonably close to the property to be acquired.
