New York A05979 amends the education law to require that each community college, except in the city of New York, be administered by a board of trustees of eleven members. Nine members are appointed for terms of seven years in annual rotation, and two members are elected. One of the elected members is a faculty or staff member, elected by and from among the faculty and staff of the college, serving a two-year term. The other elected member is a student, serving a one-year term. Both elected members are non-voting, ex-officio members.
