New York A05880 amends the education law to require public libraries to include electric vehicle charging stations in at least five percent of their parking spaces. Each charging station must support electric vehicle charging with a minimum of forty amperes and two hundred eight volts of electrical capacity. The charging stations must comply with all applicable state, county, city, town, or village electrical codes. The act will take effect three years after it becomes law.
