The bill amends the military law to authorize the governor to present a New York State Cold War Commemorative Medal to eligible individuals. Eligibility includes being a New York resident or having served in the U.S. Armed Forces from March 12, 1947, to December 26, 1991, under honorable conditions or with a qualifying condition. The medal is not to be awarded to those who have already received other New York state war commemorative medals. The act takes effect on April 1 following its enactment.
