New York A05767 amends the retirement and social security law to authorize an optional twenty-five year retirement plan for uniformed court officers and peace officers employed by the unified court system. Members eligible for this plan must complete twenty-five years of creditable service and can retire with a benefit of one-half their final average salary. Members currently covered under Article 14 of the retirement and social security law have one year to make an irrevocable election to switch to the twenty-five-year plan.
