New York A05605 amends the military law to provide reimbursement for certain insurance premiums for New York resident members of the naval militia when activated. The reimbursement equals one-thirtieth the amount of a member's monthly premium for each day of service. The state will not procure health insurance policies on behalf of members, and premiums will only be reimbursed if coverage is not paid for or reimbursed by another governmental entity. Members who decline health insurance are not entitled to any direct payment.
