New York Assembly Bill A05516 amends the real property actions and proceedings law to allow the appointment of foreclosure receivers and managing agents in cities with a population of one million or more. The agency responsible for residential real property in these cities can submit a list of qualified individuals to the chief administrative judge of the supreme court. The court can only appoint a receiver or managing agent whose name appears on this list. This act takes effect immediately.
