This bill amends the insurance law to require coverage for perimenopausal and menopausal care and treatment administered by a physician or other licensed health care provider. Coverage includes symptoms such as irregular or heavy menstrual periods, hot flashes, mood changes, and sleep disruption. The coverage is not subject to annual deductibles, co-payment fees, or coinsurance. The changes apply to policies issued, reissued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after the effective date of the act.
