New York A05314 amends the education law to include remedial services, homework, or childcare as the transportation responsibility of city school districts in cities with a population of one million or more. This change applies to children in grades kindergarten through six who remain at the same school for these activities from half-past nine in the morning until four in the afternoon or later, on weekdays. The affected children must reside at least one mile from their school for grades three through six and at least one-half mile for grades kindergarten through two.
