This bill amends the agriculture and markets law to establish a director of aquacultural and maricultural resources in the Department of Agriculture and Markets. The director will aid, in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development, in the culture of economically important species, including shellfish, to relieve pressure on wild stocks and support the growth of industries involved with aquaculture, mariculture, or the commercial and recreational harvesting of marine resources.
