Waives application fees for unemployed individuals seeking civil service jobs in New York.
This bill amends the civil service law to allow the state civil service department to waive application fees for individuals who certify they are unemployed. It removes the requirement that the individual must also be primarily responsible for the support of a household or receiving public assistance to qualify for the fee waiver. The waiver applies to all civil service examinations held between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
