This bill amends the civil practice law and rules to set a ten-year statute of limitations for actions against professional engineers, architects, landscape architects, land surveyors, geologists, and construction contractors for defects in real property improvements. The limitations period begins ten years after the completion of the improvement, which is defined as the issuance of a permanent certificate of occupancy or, if not required, four months before the last day to file a mechanic's lien or the owner's final payment.
