New York A04673 amends the workers' compensation law to presume that PTSD in police officers, correction officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel is work-related if diagnosed within three years of their last employment date. Benefits will be compensable unless it is shown by a preponderance of evidence that the PTSD was caused by nonservice-connected factors. This act takes effect immediately.
