Permits for handicapped parking issued anywhere in New York State can now be used in all handicapped parking spaces in New York City.
This bill amends the vehicle and traffic law and the New York City Charter to allow vehicles with handicapped parking permits issued anywhere in New York State to use all handicapped parking spaces in New York City. Permits must be issued by the governing bodies of cities, towns, and villages in the state. The permits entitle vehicles displaying them to park in designated handicapped parking areas in any city, town, or village of the state. The permits must include the last three digits of the driver's license or non-driver identification card of the permit holder.
