New York A04259 amends the insurance law by adding a new section that allows the superintendent of financial services to hire an actuary to assist with reviewing any rate or form filing submitted to the superintendent. The cost of these services is to be paid by the person who submitted the filing, or the person for whom the services were performed, excluding the superintendent. This act will take effect immediately and will expire on January 1, 2029, at which point the provisions will be repealed.
