The bill directs the state energy conservation construction code to set standards for electric vehicle charging stations and electric vehicle ready parking spaces in certain new buildings. For detached one- and two-family dwellings, the code may provide for electric vehicle ready infrastructure. For other buildings, the code shall require a minimum number of parking spaces with electric vehicle ready infrastructure and a minimum number of parking spaces with electric vehicle charging stations, with minimum charging capacity standards established by the council.
