Allows workers' compensation claimants to use any in-state pharmacy registered with the education department, while employers and carriers can.
This bill amends the workers' compensation law to allow claimants to choose any in-state pharmacy registered with the education department for their prescription needs. Employers and insurance carriers can still encourage claimants to use pharmacies with which they have contracts. The employer or carrier remains liable for charges from in-state pharmacies, but not for out-of-state pharmacies or extemporaneous compound medications not approved by the FDA.
