New York A03782 amends insurance law to ensure equitable reimbursement and coverage for podiatric care.
New York A03782 amends the insurance law to ensure that policies providing reimbursement for podiatric services must offer the same reimbursement regardless of whether the service is performed by a physician or a licensed podiatrist. Additionally, it allows for reasonable deductible, co-payment, and co-insurance amounts, as well as fee or benefit limits and utilization review, for podiatric care provided by licensed doctors of podiatry, provided these do not discriminate against podiatric care and are no different than those applied to care by other health professionals.
