The Justice for Rachael Act creates dangerousness hearings for certain defendants. The people may seek the pretrial detention of a principal charged with certain felonies or misdemeanors. The judge may order the detention of a principal if no conditions of release will reasonably assure the safety of any other person or the community. The principal may be released on conditions, including restrictions on personal associations, living accommodations, or travel. The principal may also be required to participate in a community corrections program.
