Restores the authorized reimbursement rate paid to governmental entities for enforcement of navigation laws to 75% of authorized expenditures.
The bill amends the navigation law to restore the authorized reimbursement rate paid to governmental entities for enforcement of navigation laws to 75% of authorized expenditures. The commissioner determines the percentage proportion of authorized expenditures for each entity, up to $400,000 per county, against the total authorized expenditures of all entities. This proportion is applied against half of the vessel registration fees received by the state in the preceding program year. The bill also allocates funds for navigation law enforcement training and administration.
