Requires certain judges to visit the largest correctional facility in their county every two years and submit a report on conditions.
The bill amends the judiciary law to mandate that justices of the supreme court, judges of the county court, and judges of the court of claims who regularly sit in criminal or mixed criminal-civil terms visit the largest correctional facility in their county within two years of their appointment or election and every two years thereafter. These visits must be in addition to any other visitation requirements. Following each visit, the judge must prepare and submit a report to the clerk of the court of appeals within six months.
