New York A03075 exempts energy-star qualified appliances from sales tax and allows municipalities to opt for the same exemption.
New York A03075 amends the tax law to exempt certain energy-star qualified appliances from sales tax. Specifically, it exempts retail sales of energy-star qualified clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, room air conditioners, ceiling fans, dehumidifiers, freezers, air purifiers, clothes dryers, and ventilating fans. The exemption does not apply to the rental, leasing, repair, or servicing of these products.
