This bill amends the education law to mandate monthly inspections of all AED equipment in all schools. These inspections must be conducted by staff with a valid certification in the operation of AEDs, following manufacturer and government standards. Any AED that fails to meet these standards must be replaced with a new device through the coordinating emergency health care provider. A written record of all maintenance and testing must be maintained and submitted annually.
