The "small business fairness act" allows businesses ordered to cease or limit operations due to a declared state disaster emergency to continue or resume operations if the products or services they offer are also available from other businesses that have not been ordered to cease or limit operations. This applies if the other business is operating in the area affected by the order and the business subject to the order complies with any safety precautions required by the order. The act amends the executive law and the public health law to include these provisions.
