This bill amends the public officers law to mandate that every member of the New York legislature and every candidate for the legislature must file an annual statement of financial disclosure electronically in a format that is editable, electronic, readable, and searchable. The commission on ethics and lobbying in government is directed to make an electronic version of the annual statement of financial disclosure available by January 1, 2026. The bill also allows for exemptions from public disclosure of client names in certain circumstances.
